Description:
Why buy a "Single Seat" ride vs. a "Platform" based ride - What is the difference ?
The biggest difference between single seat based theaters (XD Theater) vs. platform based
rides is when problems occurs. On the single seat platform, only one seat is affected, and you
can still run your business with the remaining seats, whereas on competitor's rides, the entire
platform is down and you have to wait for the problem to be fixed before starting back operations.
That could make a big difference in profitability, especially if it happens anytime during your peak season or peak hours. Also, with each of our seats individually animated, the movement is much
more realistic and a heck of lot faster ! Each of our specialty seats can generate motion up to
400 Movements/Sec, and up to 2 G's of Acceleration / Speed Simulation, plus 6 Degrees in
Freedom Of Movement (1st left- right, 2nd front-back, 3rd up-down, 4th Yaw, 5th Pitch, 6th Roll)
What is an Actuator ?
An actuator is something that converts energy into motion. An actuator typically is a mechanical
device that takes energy, in this case electricity and converts that into some kind of motion.
That motion can be anything from blocking to clamping to ejecting. Actuators are typically used
in manufacturing or industrial applications and may be used in things like motors, pumps, switches,
and valves. We use special electric motors (actuators) to recreate extreme motion sensation, by
using two actuators? and a front pivot. We can recreate any type of motion sensation which
allows us to have the most realistic motion experience on the market.
How does an Actuator work ?
Data is streamed to the encoder of the actuator and in turn the encoder drives the motor of the
actuator which in turn interprets the motion data stream. Information is sent to the actuators and
is transformed into motion. Actuators work a little like a music instrument, the musician reads from
a partition and plays the instrument that produces a melody; the actuators read the information encoded in the movie and produce the motion. So the interaction of the actuators and the
movie will offer you the most realistic motion experience on the market.
What are the D's stand for in 3D / 4D / 6D ?
D stands for dimension. All of our movies are HD 3D movies. So we start with 3 dimensions,
then you add the movement of our seats, plus the light effect within our theater and finally,
the extreme wind effect which provide a total of 6 dimensions, or a " 6D " experience !
What kind of Movie Projectors are used in the XD Theater ?
In most of our installation, we use commercial DLP HD projectors in a dual configuration mode
to produce our 3D images; we may change requirements when working on a customized location.
Why should I choose an Electric Motion System vs. Pneumatic or Hydraulic Systems ?
Electric motion base systems are a cost effective and easy way to maintain systems that can be operated with no special technical knowledge; anyone can operate and maintain the theater easily. Whereas a specific trained technician will be needed for any pneumatic or hydraulic based system
How much space is required for an XD Theater ?
Depending on the quantity of seats you choose and the size of your enclosure, there
are many different XD Theatre configurations, so measurements will differ.
